Warriors Take 4th Place in Home Tournament

The Warriors "placed" and finished fourth in its final tournament of the 2008 season in Orland Park. Eight teams participated in this tournament: Park Forest, Elmhurst, Richton Park, Westside Warriors, LaGrange, Darien, New Lenox and the Orland Park Warriors.

Our team opened the tournament against Park Forest on Tuesday with an 18-1 win. Elmhurst defeated the Warriors 14-3 in five innings on Friday evening. The Warriors then beat Richton Park by a score of 11-2 to "place" and to advance to the semi-final games on Sunday.

Elmhurst once again defeated the Warriors in the semi-final game on Sunday morning. The game was called after five innings of play with Elmhurst winning by score of 11-1. The Warriors then lost the consolation game to LaGrange by a score of 10-5 in seven innings.

Elmhurst went on to win the tournament championship by beating New Lenox in the final inning by a score of 3-2!
